| | | | Q: Where does this tour go?
A: This is a full day tour which takes you into the interior of Banderas Bay to see some of the traditional towns. You will stop for a walking tour of one of the towns before heading off-road and inland to the forests. Here you do a hike, and then head off to the beach outside of the bay at either San Pancho or Monterey.
Q: What are the towns in the interior called?
A: We do stop at a number of different towns, but their names are, in order from Puerto Vallarta: Mezcales, El Porvenir, San Jose, Valle De Banderas. Most tours also stop at a very small settlement after the jungle hike called Guamuchil where you may visit a farm.
Q: How tough is the hike?
A: We have a number of different hikes in the forest and so depending on the type of group your guide will choose a route in advance so as to suit everyone. Do be prepared however to walk over uneven ground and up some hills. The walk takes approx 45 mins and it can be very warm in the forest.
Q: Will we see wild life and interesting plants?
A: You can never guarantee what you will see but our guides are expertly trained to spot wildlife and interesting plants and trees. You are very likely to see reptiles such as iguanas, maybe snakes such as boa constrictors and many tropical birds. There are lots of smaller insects too such as termites and cutter ants. The plant life is fascinating too and includes many types or orchids, bromeliads and the strangler fig trees.
Q: Is this tour suitable for all ages and abilities?
A: The tour is not recommended for children under 8 as the ride can be bumpy. It is quite a physical tour also and so is not recommended for pregnant women, people with back problems or those who have difficulty walking. The Unimog Trucks used have big steps to get up and into and so you do need to be relatively fit to do the tour.
Q: Can you swim at the beach at the end of the day?
A: The tour ends at a spectacular beach outside of the bay. Here the waves can be very powerful as you are on the open Pacific Ocean and so it is not always possible to swim. We will have lifeguard on duty however to let you know if it's possible to swim. Even if you can't, you will still be able to soak up the sun - these beaches outside of the bay are mind-blowingly beautiful!
Q: Are all of the drinks and food included?
A: Yes. We provide soft drinks and water only in the morning and then the bar is open with beer, margaritas, tequila and Bacardi from lunch time onwards. Each truck even takes a "cooler bar" in the back for the journey back home. Snacks are provided after the hike and then a big buffet barbecue is served at the beach so you won't go hungry on this tour! | |
