Tucked behind Sam’s Club, the charming and bustling pueblo of Pitillal is filled with local character and charm - and well worth a visit. Traditional parades, strolling musicians, fireworks and cultural events take place in and around the central plaza on a regular basis. An easily accessible respite from Vallarta’s tourist-industry glossiness, Pitillal feels more like the "real" Mexico with family restaurants, tiny tiendas, and a small market that sell everything at bargain prices.
