Vallarta Adventures is a proud conservation partner of the Monterey Bay Aquarium´s Seafood Watch program, and together, we want to empower consumers and businesses to make choices for health oceans and to help support diverse marine ecosystems for the future. Using science-based, peer-reviewed methods, Seafood Watch® assesses how fisheries and farmed seafood impact the environment.

From this information, they provide recommendations through their consumer guides, website and mobile app, indicating which items are "Best Choices", "Good Alternatives" and which ones to "Avoid". Nearly 90% of our world´s fisheries are fully-exploited or have collapsed. The oceans are currently being fished at 2.5 times the sustainable level; we are removing fish from the ocean faster than they can reproduce. In order to inspire change for our oceans, Vallarta Adventures distributes Seafood Watch® guides and promotes the free mobile app to our guests. We are proud to announce that our animals eat sustainably and so do we! From our marine mammal trainers to our chefs, all of our diets promote ocean-friendly seafood.

The Social Assistance Program is to fulfill the dreams of the children who suffer from terminal illness, or are in the final stages of the illness, and have the desire to swim with dolphins. Over the years we have worked in favor of these little children together with various associations, resulting in granting the wishes of 113 children in the last two years, with our objective of the children having the time of their lives and that they enjoy interacting with the wonderful specimens of marine life that are dolphins.

Free dolphin therapy sessions are provided to underprivileged children with disabilities, such as children with Attention Deficit Disorder, Hyperactivity Disorder, Speech disorders, language disabilities, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, hydrocephalus and macrocephaly, special visual needs, learning disabilities, autism, Down syndrome, etc.

We have attended children from various associations, such as Pasitos de Luz, Pitillal Busca un Amigo, The CANICA Association, Therapies United, Leonesa Association, Make a Wish, My Last Wish, Cultural & Educational, Production Association, Manos de Amor por Bahia, Asociación Discapacitados de la Bahía, and the children from the Sistema Estatal para el Desarro integral de la Familia (DIF) of Bahia de Banderas, Puerto Vallarta, Nayarit and Tepic.

We work in collaboration with the Sistema Estatal para el Desarro integral de la Familia (DIF), through a multidisciplinary team of specialists, with whom the children receive various types of therapies as well as dolphin assisted therapy, our main objective is that the little ones have a better quality of life.

Through its Dolphin Protection and Conservation program, Dolphin Adventure performs activities designed especially for children, through which young students learn in a fun and dynamic way about the fascinating marine world from which the dolphins are originated. These are done through visits from public and private preschools and elementary schools as well as in rural communities of Puerto Vallarta, Jal and Bahia de Banderas, Nay.

During the last 5 years we have had a total of 5,889 students from preschool and elementary school that visited our Dolphinariums.

Dolphin Adventure and its sister facility Cabo Dolphins are dedicated, active participants in Marine Mammal Rescues along the coastlines of the states in which our Marine Mammal facilities reside, Jalisco, Nayarit and Baja California Sur. Over the past decade we have assisted government agencies, Profepa and Semarnat, in the rescue and intervention of more than 30 individual animals.

These animals are rescued, rehabilitated and released by our Marine Mammal Specialists and Veterinarian staff members with an accumulated experience of more than 100 years! Marine Mammal rescues are not hard work. Each individual animal requires round the clock attention and although we do the best we can some animals cannot be saved, while others cannot be released due to extensive injuries or health concerns that will not enable them to survive the rigors of the wild environment.

Here is one of the animals that we have assisted... Meet Moka! Click here to watch more videos.
