Whether you are looking for a PADI emergency first response course or a course designed to give you the skills you need to help out in any medical emergency, our Emergency First Response course has you covered. This affiliate course will prepare you for the kinds of emergency situations you may encounter in the PADI Rescue Diver course so you can respond more swiftly and more deftly in situations where a diving buddy is injured.

But this course isn’t just for divers! The topics and skills covered in our emergency first response course are for anyone involved in adventure sports who wants to be prepared for any and all medical emergencies.

What’s Covered in PADI Emergency First Response Training

In the PADI emergency first response, you’ll learn life-saving first aid plus CPR skills and rescue breathing, along with basic life support, spinal injury management, shock prevention, spinal injury management, basic first aid and more.

Each concept is presented in a simple step by step way that’s actually designed to teach you how to stay calm when the pressure is on so you know what to do when someone is hurt. That’s what makes it such a good augment to PADI Rescue Diving training. Once you’ve safely brought a diver in distress to the surface, you’ll be able to keep them stable and treat their injuries until emergency personnel arrives.

The PADI Emergency First Response Training Course

Our PADI emergency first response course adheres to the internationally recognized medical guidelines for emergency, life-saving care. You’ll have class time and be expected to utilize self-study materials (including written materials and videos) as part of the learning experience.

As the course progresses, you’ll learn to quickly analyze and respond to a variety of injuries and illnesses such as broken bones and other non-life-threatening conditions. You’ll also learn what to do in life-threatening emergencies, including in situations where someone isn’t breathing, the person has no heartbeat or they are losing blood rapidly.

CPR training is an important part of the PADI emergency first response, and we recommend that our trainees take refresher CPR courses every one to two years to ensure that their life-saving skills stay up to date. And finally, you’ll also learn how to create a first aid kit that will be useful in any emergency situation.

Why Take an Emergency First Response Course

The quick answer is that it feels good to be able to help in an emergency! Knowing that you have both the skills and the confidence to stabilize someone who is hurt or to help someone breathe again is amazing. Did you know that most PADI Instructors are also emergency first response instructors? That’s because having the knowledge necessary to face an emergency in and out of the water can save a diver’s life. But it’s not just about diving. Anyone can get hurt, at any time. This is the kind of confidence-building course that will always be useful, now and in the future.
