If you are headed to Puerto Vallarta, you have probably planned an itinerary packed with day-time excursions and adventures. But what about the nightlife?
Puerto Vallarta is the place to go in Mexico if you want to keep the party going after the sun goes down or watch it set in style. Vallarta Adventures can help you enjoy the trip of a lifetime with our Puerto Vallarta shows and tours. Check out some of the most popular and entertaining evening activities like enjoying the show Rhythms of the Night or walking along El Malecón.
Rhythms of the Night
The number one item on your list should absolutely be Rhythms of the Night in Puerto Vallarta. First, you’ll venture deep into the heart of the tropical rainforest at Las Caletas, where you’ll find a hidden amphitheater near a crumbling pyramid.
This spectacular show has been a favorite among Puerto Vallarta shows for over 20 years. The visual design was developed by Eugenio Caballero, an Oscar Award winner for “Pan’s Labyrinth.” Their interpretation of the Aztec Creation story is told through vibrant dance, acrobatic skill, pulsating rhythms, and incredible costumes.
When you see Rhythms of the Night in Puerto Vallarta through Vallarta Adventures, you’ll begin with a sunset cruise across Banderas Bay, arriving at Las Caletas in luxury and comfort. Then you’ll follow the tiki torches to a welcoming procession of dancers, drummers, and jungle creatures who guide you to your dining area on the beach. After a delicious dinner, you’ll be swept away in the magical account of the history and culture of Mexico.
Rhythms of the Night - VIP
Vallarta Adventures also allows you to experience Rhythms of the Night as a VIP with special privileges reserved for only the most important guests. The current show, which is constantly evolving, consists of The Legend of the 5th Sun, which is greatly inspired by the cultures of the ancient people that once lived in the area. You’ll witness authentic spiritual rituals performed under a blanket of stars as you relax on the beach with a drink in your hand and a gourmet dinner.
As a VIP guest, you’ll enjoy preferred boarding for the cruise on our luxury catamaran, priority entrance for the show, and exclusive seating and dining locations. You’ll have the best seats available to witness the dramatic acrobatic performance of a lifetime.
Luxury Sunset Sailing
There is no better way to enjoy the view of the sun setting near the ocean than a tour that takes you sailing in Puerto Vallarta. The Luxury Sunset Sailing experience with Vallarta Adventures takes you out on the Bay of Banderas, where you’ll get the best possible view of the gorgeous tropical sunset over the water, the city skyline, and the Sierra Madre mountains.
From the comfort of our luxury catamaran, you’ll have a front-row seat to the most photo-worthy sunset view in Puerto Vallarta. You’ll also have access to an open bar and delicious hors d’oeuvres. You can also enjoy our Luxury Sunset Sailing as a private tour if you prefer.
Downtown Nightlife
There are also more casual activities for you to enjoy during your stay in Puerto Vallarta as the day winds to a close. Check out these favorites while you wander the streets downtown and enjoy the ocean breezes and local entertainment.
Farmer’s Market
During high season (November through April), from afternoon until night, you can find a lively farmer’s market in Marina Vallarta on Thursdays and in Nuevo Vallarta on Tuesdays. These are the place to go for fresh, local, organic produce, as well as handmade clothing, jewelry, and pieces of art.
Voladores de Papantla
Every night during high season, there is a group of “Voladores de Papantla,” who perform on the beach, near downtown Puerto Vallarta’s boardwalk, El Malecón. There are not specific times listed for regular shows, but they can usually be found between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.
Los Arcos at El Malecón
While visiting the boardwalk to see the Voladores de Papantla, look for a series of arches with the ocean as a backdrop. You’ll find a public amphitheater here, where you can see shows on the weekends. Nearly every weekend, year-round, there is free entertainment put on by locals, including singing, stand up comedians, short plays, and even talent shows. On Sundays, you may be fortunate enough to see senior citizens dancing old rhythms like danzón and boleros across the street from Los Arcos Puerto Vallarta, in the main plaza downtown.
Muelle de Los Muertos
Don't feel scared of the name "Dock of The Dead", on the contrary, this beach is the perfect spot for the whole family, considered one of the best places to watch spectacular and colorful sunsets in Puerto Vallarta.
You will find a wide variety of restaurants and enjoy an incredible walk. A gentle breeze and calm waves await you. Don't forget to visit the pier and its sail monument! Capture the perfect photo for your social media.
