Your journey south of Puerto Vallarta begins aboard one of our iconic yellow Unimogs. Dating back to World War II, these vintage 4x4 trucks are the perfect vehicles to start a day full of adventure!

As you cross Downtown Puerto Vallarta, our guide will share a bit of the history of this 100-year-old city we call home, from its humble beginnings to becoming one of Mexico's most romantic towns, bursting with artistic expressions in every corner. Along the way, you’ll pass by some of the colorful murals that have made Puerto Vallarta famous and learn about the sculptures that delight passersby on the Malecón.

After crossing the Cuale River into the so-called Romantic Zone, we'll leave the city behind and embark on a scenic coastal road through the residential areas of Conchas Chinas and Mismaloya. The winding road, nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains, offers stunning views of Los Arcos, a group of rock formations emerging from the sea that have become an icon of Puerto Vallarta.

Passing through the last small fishermen’s village called Boca de Tomatlan, we veer into the mountains, leaving behind civilization and the busy city life, arriving at a base camp surrounded by untouched nature.

Upon arrival, following a safety briefing from our guides and gearing up with goggles and helmets, you’ll embark on an exhilarating off-road expedition aboard one of the Polaris RZR ATVs from our fleet. This adventure will lead you through dirt trails and breathtaking tropical forests.

All Terrain Safari is not just a thrilling off-road tour; it is an ecotourism experience specially designed to allow you to appreciate the magnificent local flora and fauna with all of your senses.

At some point, you’ll turn off the engine and embark on a short hike toward one of Puerto Vallarta’s waterfalls.

Pause for a moment to take in the awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds you, listening to the soothing sounds of rushing water and the symphony of birdsong echoing through the trees. Feel the cool mist on your skin as you prepare to immerse yourself in the refreshing waters of its crystal-clear natural pool. This, and more, is All Terrain Safari.

Also called CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), the $50 USD insurance covers up to $400 USD of exterior and interior damage to the vehicle caused by an eventual collision. This insurance isn't included in the cost of the tour and must be paid at Check-in (one insurance per vehicle).

If the total of the repair exceeds $400 USD, the balance must be paid by the Driver of the vehicle via credit card on the same day of the tour. The CDW does not cover any medical expenses incurred as a result of an accident in the vehicle.

All Terrain Safari takes place at our private natural reserve in the heart of the Sierra Madre, approximately 6 miles south of Puerto Vallarta.

YES! Make sure to bring a change of clothes as you will be off-roading up and down steep dusty hills (sometimes muddy - in the rainy season). We will provide you with a dust mask, goggles, and a helmet, as well as a cool, clean towel to clean off your face after the off-roading!

A light snack (tropical fruit) and water will be provided on your UTV tour

It is a challenging route that goes through rocky terrains, creeks, dense vegetation, steep hills and valleys, and around quick turns. You will be following a guide to ensure your safety and the safety of others!

Your safety is our number one priority. Our fleet of Polaris RZR ATVs is secure and designed with novice and experienced drivers in mind. These vehicles come equipped the best safety features including with roll bars, safety nets, external steel frames, and seat belts. Additionally, we will provide helmets and goggles for maximum protection on your tour.

Before hopping on your 4x4, the group will be led through a safety briefing to ensure everyone is comfortable with safety protocols and equipment usage. Our UTV tours are led by expert guides who know the area and are trained in safety procedures.

An ATV, also known as an all-terrain vehicle, is a specialized vehicle with features equipped to handle various types of terrain, including dirt, dunes, forests, and mountain trails. “ATV” can be used as a generic term, encompassing UTVs, also known as Utility Terrain Vehicles, but there are a few key differences:

  • UTVs feature a steering wheel that handles like a car, unlike ATVs, which are equipped with handlebars.
  • UTVs seat 2-4 riders, perfect for families and groups, whereas ATVs are built for 1-2 riders.
  • UTVs are typically faster than ATVs.
  • UTVs have more cabin space than ATVs, offering more room for passengers.
  • UTVs have a steel frame as an additional layer of protection for passengers.
