Beginner or Certified?


The Diving Tour at Las Caletas offers two options. Certified (2 dives / 2 tanks) exclusively for those who already hold a certification and have previous dive experience. And Beginners (1 dive / 1 tank) for those who have recently obtained their certification, are not experienced yet.

If you are not yet certified, you will need to complete a PADI Discover Scuba Diving pool session prior to your ocean dive. This introductory lesson is conducted in a safe, controlled environment and is required to ensure your safety and enjoyment during the tour. You can learn more or book the session here.

Accessible only by boat, Las Caletas offers some of Mexico’s most desirable diving conditions, boasting crystal clear waters, unparalleled visibility, and calm currents, ideal for beginners and experienced divers alike. If you’re looking for a family-friendly dive in Puerto Vallarta, this is the place!

As you plunge beneath the waves of Banderas Bay, watch as natural coral reefs spring to life before your eyes! A visual feast of colors and textures, this protected sanctuary is home to a bountiful variety of marine life, including garden eels, jawfish, eagle rays, manta rays, and large schools of tropical fish. You may even come face-to-face with a gracefully gliding sea turtle — an experience no traveler should miss!

  • Please arrive at the check-in point 45 minutes before departure.
  • The minimum age for scuba diving at Las Caletas with Vallarta Adventures is 10 years old.
  • For certified divers, please be aware that there is a $25 USD equipment rental fee applied at check-in. However, this fee does not apply to beginner divers or those enrolling in certification courses.
  • Please keep in mind that, according to PADI's recommendations, beginner divers should refrain from flying within 12 hours after a dive, while certified divers should avoid flying within 18 hours after two or more dives in a single day.
  • For certified divers, at least one immersion is required in the 12 months leading up to diving with Vallarta Adventures.
  • Expectant mothers and guests with respiratory, cardiovascular, or ear problems are restricted from participating in this tour. We also require all guests to be in good mental and physical condition.
